Boo!

We decided that seeing as the kids had the day off of school, we would have a Halloween party. The kids invited a few friends from the neighborhood, and we got together and had some spooky fun!

Next we had lunch and we made Creepy Pizza's. There was all kinds of ghoulish goodies to combine to achieve the perfect Frankenstein Face.

The last thing we did was a quick game of Pass the Parcel with the usual mittens, opened with a knife and fork. I like to do this because it makes the game last longer. The prize was a box of decorated Halloween lollipops.

After they each had a go at it with the knife and fork it became apparent that it was never going to open, so I told the kids to go at it and shred it!

And a fun time was had by all....

OK, since forever I have been wanting to try making these. Kids, Bikes and Friends

Until recently, we have been enjoying beautiful weather. And the kids have been taking advantage of it, that's for sure. Every spare moment they can be outside, they are. Both Ethan and Hannah decided they wanted to learn to ride a two wheeler. {Hannah is stubborn and it took her this long to be 'ready'}. So Peter spent a few afternoons running behind wobbly bikes, making sure my kids didn't end up back int he ER. Ethan learned in one afternoon, Hannah about 2 or 3. Now they just need bikes, sigh. So here are a few pictures of the kids with their friends {from a few doors down}, and Ethan riding a bike {borrowed from Mary}

Randomness

A couple of weeks ago for Activity Days the girls were supposed to showcase a talent and then talk about it for a minute. Hannah decided she wanted to showcase her love for baking (as did about half the other little girls that night!). After some searching on the Internet for a cake she liked (and could easily recreate) she decided on this - an ice-cream cone cake. It turned out pretty good, with only a little help from mom. (I had to squeeze the icing bag because it was too hard for her. And if that meant guiding her hand a little...well - I did!)

Megan had the great fortune of receiving a birthday invitation our first Sunday back in Airdrie. At the party they had a clown who did some amazing face painting. I only wish I took my camera to the party so I could get some of the other girls; they looked incredible!
