Pioneer Girl

In school Megan has been learning about pioneers and pioneer life in the early 1800's. They were having a "Pioneer Day" where they were encouraged to dress up in bonnets and aprons and such. So Megan comes home and is all worked up into a tizzy. She HAD to have a costume for the next day. So I pull out the sewing machine, blow off the dust and whipped {hahaha} this little beauty up. I was up until 11:00 finishing this apron and bonnet that she HAD to have. I have to say I was quite proud of the results. She looked super cute.

The next day I was at the school on unrelated business and happened to poke my head into her classroom to see all these little pioneers. Because you know she HAD to dress up. There were 2, yes 2 little girls wearing what I guess to be their moms kitchen aprons and 1 who had on a summer hat with ribbon ties pinned onto it. And then there was Megan, all done up to the nines. I tell ya, if I didn't love her so much...but I do and that's why on any given day you may find me sitting up till all hours of the night working on some random project that my kids absolutely NEED. Because I love them.

We're glad to have Hannah home. She should have this cast on for the next 4 or 5 weeks. She's not back to school yet, but we're hoping tomorrow will be the day. She misses her friends and can't wait to see them. Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts. We felt them all the way over here in Sarnia.

Happy Birthday Megan

So Megan recently turned the big 9! Although some of the pictures aren't fantastic you get the idea. We had some friends from church over for lunch and had cake and then later on presents.

I just love the expression on Hunter's face in this picture.

Apparently Barbie clothes are "Oh SO cute".

Lily was none too impressed that she didn't get any gifts.

Quick Summary

So as most of you know, Hannah broke her arm on Sunday night. Broke it really bad. She was transferred to a hospital in London on Monday and had surgery on Monday night. Due to the severity of the break there was some bruising to the nerves in her arm. She has lots of swelling that is affecting the nerves also and she has no feeling in her index and middle fingers. We're hoping that once the swelling starts to subside the feeling and movement will return. I think I forgot to mention that she broke her left arm, and she is left handed. So we really want to make sure everything is working properly.

It's really hard being so far away from my other kids, but soon Hannah will be feeling better and we'll all be together again. Please remember Hannah in your prayers.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to my family and friends far and wide. May we all have a fantastic year in 2008.

So far this year (hehe) I have taken down the Christmas tree and the Christmas decorations. I have however, left up part of my snowman collection. Last night we got some snow [around 10 cm] and the majority of today it has been snowing. Peter took the kids into the backyard so I could pack up Christmas with little fuss or interruption. And because there is so much fluffy snow they built a snowman! And after that they built two snow forts and had a snowball fight. Although Ethan came in when Hank was finished and Mary came in before the snowballs started flying:)
