The Lurgy is Here to Stay

Oh, that I had something interesting to share. But I don't. These past few weeks have been pretty lousy. Two weeks ago Hannah had pink eye. It was pretty ugly. So she was home on Tuesday/Wednesday. On Thursday Katey was home with a horrible cold. If you knew how important school was to her [the social aspect anyway] you would be as shocked as I was to find out she was too sick to go to school. On Friday I got a call from the school that Mary had had an upset tummy all morning, could I come get her? [Translation - You are a horrible mother, how could you let your child come to school while she is ill?] Magically the tummy ache got better approximately 3 minutes after we walked through the door. And to finish out my day Hannah also had her first physio appointment for her arm. Got all that...phew!

Then this week another 2 hour wait for Hannah to see Dr. Carey in London. On Monday night Mary was thowing up so - no school on Tuesday. On Wednesday I somehow double booked and both Mary and Hannah had appointments only 15 minutes apart. Whoops! So Peter took Hannah to physio while I took Mary to get her eyes tested. [She passed with flying colors, no problems!] And apparently I chose the right child to take because we were done in 20 minutes, while Peter was nearly an hour and a half with Hannah! And then Thursday and today Ethan has been home with some mystery crud. He's had a fever hovering between 102 and 104 with a cough, runny nose, tummy ache and vomiting. Hmm, seeing it typed out it looks like the flu. See, I'm so worn out it's taken me 2 days to diagnose my poor baby! Anyway he has pretty much spent the last 2 days sleeping.

I have no idea what is happening to my family. We're generally a healthy crew. But for some reason a nasty curse has been unleashed upon us. Let's hope for better health and a chance for me to actually catch my breath in between illnesses. Or better yet hope for an eradication of this lurgy [which by the way is a real word. Free At Last

Yesterday I took Hannah in for her bi-weekly appointment in London. After a 2, yes TWO hour wait we finally got in to see the doctor. The X-rays looked great, and the cast came off for good. {The pins were removed at her appt 2 weeks ago, but I think that was in the middle of my blog issues so I didn't update.} Now we have to deal with a very nervous young girl who refuses to let go of her arm. An arm which is quite wrinkly and bruised I might add. I'll have to try and take a picture when she gets home from school. That is if I can convince her it won't fall off if she takes it out of the sling. The girl is a total drama queen. Very frustrating at times .

She now has to go for physio because she still has some issues with numbness and basicallly no movement in her thumb, index and middle finger. All of the fingers she needs for writing. So lets hope the therapist can convince her to start moving them again.

And that's all the big news around here for this week. For now anyway.

In case anybody cares there is another post with pictures underneath the "Still Here" entry. And I apologize for putting these all up at once. And for the bad spelling. I've already noticed a few errors. Spellcheck still isn't working, but at least I can share pictures again! Woot woot!

Happy Birthday Hannah

On February 3rd Hannah turned the big 8! Woohoo!! We're going to do a combined birthday party for Megan and Hannah this year with all of thier friends. Not sure when this fabulous part-ay is going to happen, but I'll be sure to share photos when the dust settles. For now i'll leave you with this marvelous smilebox creation ;)

I {heart} My Crocs

I have to comment on these amazing Crocs. Yeah I know they aren't for everybody, but I love me my Crocs. Peter got me this fur lined pretty pink pair for me at Christmas and I rarely have them off of my feet. They are soooo warm and cozy.

The other day we had a big snow storm. The busses were cancelled so I had to pick the kids up from school. I dashed out the door and when I got there realized I had no socks or shoes on, just my Crocs. So I waded through a mountain of snow to get the kids and then trekked back to the van and all the while my toes stayed toasty warm and totally dry!

What else can I say? I {heart} my Crocs.

Still Here

Blogger has become a thorn in my side. Katey pointed out to me the other day that I just seem to have an unfortunate luck when it comes to blogging. I don't even know if this will work. I currently have 3 or 4 entries half ready to go. For some reason Blogger is not allowing me to spellcheck or upoad photos, and face it folks, thats what we all really blogstalk for. Beside the fact that a post about Hannah's birthday is really kind of boring without proof she actually had said birthday. And this is unfortunately one instance that having a husband who works in IT doesn't help. In this case he has shrugged his shoulders and said 'sorry, nothin' I can do, try amother computer'. OK yeah, but all my pictures are on THIS computer. So let's all pray to the blog-beings that things will be fixed quickly.

I was going through some pictures today and decide, hey, maybe other people would like to see these. Isn't that the reason I took them in the first place? So here they are, in no particular order...

The world was apparently coming to an end this day and Ethan wanted me to take his picture while he was crying. He also likes to watch himself cry in the mirror. Weirdo.

Megan all dressed up for an Activity Days fashion show at church. This picture makes me a little sad because it makes me realise how much she's growing up. {SOB}

Not the greatest picture ever, but it's the only one where you can actually see Hannah. This was on the way out the door to the waiting ambulance.

And this little beauty is of me on Christmas morning. This was at the exact moment I realised that it was a REAL laptop.
